This was a good way to get my feet wet and since it was free I can't complain. It was very humanistic and the science is old, which is to be expected since most free books are older.It was worth reading but I think I'll probably read more about the subject in a more modern textbook.

Covered the main points of embryology well enough, just not in very much depth, which I suppose is understandable for its length. I was hoping it would concentrate much more on embryology's influence in evolutionary biology, but that was barely mentioned. Worth it for an introduction to the field though; only took my a few days to read.
Excellent information, very comprehensive!
